FUNDING AND FEES

Here you can find advice on funding and fees before applying to study in UK.

The cost of tuition fees varies depending on the type of course provider, course, and fee status. If you aren’t sure of your fee status, you can either check the average fee status of different education providers on our website or you might find the ‘Fees and Money’ section on ukcisa.org.uk helpful.

Students coming from outside the European Union to study in the UK who require a visa are normally required to pay tuition fees at least four weeks before entering the educational institution. Different institutions have different methods of work and we inform you of the relevant terms and conditions. Students studying in the European Union are allowed to pay the amount on the first day of study.

The preferred method of payment is bank transfer. We do not collect tuition fees on behalf of any university or institution. All tuition fees must be paid directly to the university concerned and as outlined in the letter of admission.

The amount of money you will need to cover living costs will vary based on where you study in the UK. London and other large cities tend to be more expensive.

In 2017 UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) estimated that you would need £1,265 per month for living costs if you are studying in London, or £1,015 per month for living costs if you are studying anywhere else in the UK.

If you are from the EU, you may be able to apply for a student loan to pay for your tuition fees. Many universities and colleges offer scholarships or bursaries for both EU and international students. You might also find educationuk.org/global helpful to search for scholarships for UK higher education.

You can only apply for a scholarship once you have applied for admission for a place on the course you wish to study and been offered either a conditional or unconditional offer.

Each scholarship has its own set of eligibility criteria and you should check the general eligibility criteria for the University scholarship programme, and pay close attention to the application deadlines.
